DWZI Easter

This week I saw... Easter, a new working space,
sleepy heads and youngster walking.

 Easter means that this life on earth is not all there is.
Jesus went "to prepare a place for us"
in His Father’s heavenly mansions for all eternity.
Jesus died for our sins, paying our penalty,
so that we could be forgiven.
He was resurrected, to prove that death has no hold
on those who repent and accept Him as Savior.
This life on earth is a prelude to eternal joy with our Lord.

A new working space in a corner of our living-room.
I was to make a room on the attic,
but that is not doable with 2 little boys,
if I want to sit there during day time also.
So this is a "in between" solution,
until the kids are going to school.
It's still a bit messy because I need more
storage places, or shelves on the wall.
But nevertheless I'm happy with it.
And I have the feeling now
that I can "work" on my projects :)

This picture is so sweet,
I took it the day after Easter.
It was more than 25 degrees,
and the weather wore us off.
We are not used to such a heat in the spring.
My husband and oldest son fell
asleep on a sofa late afternoon.
This is what I call "picture perfect"
so pure and adorable.

Our youngest son walking!
Lucas just turned one year,
and he was walking "around" the room,
normally he only walked along the couch.
This is a big step (literally and figuratively).
I just could not resist share this with you.

Granny Squares

Granny squares to practice...

I made a few mini granny's
just to get the technique right.
And it seems like it's working....
 Because my little sister is pregnant,
and she is expecting a girl,
I wanted to make something special.
So I made a few granny's
to see what they looked like.

 The yarn is a mix of acrylic and mohair.
And the effect is very nice I think.
But I'm not sure what to make from the granny's...
A baby bed spread or a shawl/wrap.
We'll see..
But first things first...
There are still a pair of ears waiting
to be knitted ;)

Crochet flowers

My mother and sister both love scrapbooking,
and they asked me to crochet a few flowers and ornaments
for there scrapbooks because they are pretty expensive in the shops.
My mother gave me a little box with her old crochet needles, 
when she saw that I had only one "normal" crochet needle...
And also she gave me the old scissors from my grandmother.
The scissors are from real silver,
after I cleaned and polish it, the still look very old, 
but it's the only thing from my grandma I have left.
 I use the scissors very carefully and with a lot of pleasure,
because I know she loved to do handcraft also.
Anyway here is the result from the flowers and ornaments.
I only have 2 colors of cotton, so it looks a bit dull.
But for scrapbooking and learning it's okay.

Monday Inspiration Passion for knitting

 This book from Leigh Radford I bought a few months ago, 

and I was not able to make anything from it.

But now I want to try somethings in the book.

And that means I become more confident

to make knitwear and accessory's from a pattern.

Or modify a pattern to suit your creativity.

And I just wanted to show you what a nice things

Knitting in progress Deer Hat

This lovely knitted deer hat in progress is for a blogfriend Liefgeval
I had a little bit of trouble with the yarn and the pattern
to calculate the size, the pattern is for bigger needles than I had yarn for...
And the top of the hat looks a bit different, but when it sits on
your head it looks better than the picture...

The ears are trouble...
I don't have the correct size needles without head,
as you can see in the picture I did a sample with
the loose ends of my circular needle set in 2 different sizes (ohoh)
So next week I need to buy a pair of gloves needles in the right size ;)
And I hope (really hope) by the end of this month that the hat will be finished.

But I do love this challenge so much, I never did something like this before,
so I only get better from it... right... even if it would take a wile.
My blogfriend reassured me that she had enough patience to wait...
Well I hope I don't disappoint her,
and the hat will be done at the end of this month
or maybe in May or .... Just kidding :)

DWZI mijn oudste kind

Deze week zag ik mijn oudste kind (bijna 3 jaar) ...

 Ik zag zorgen maar ook lichtpunten.

Deze week hadden we een gesprek bij Intergrale Vroeghulp (I.V.).

Dat is een organisatie waar je terecht kan als jij of iemand anders in 

je omgeving denkt dat er iets mis is met de ontwikkeling je kind.

In ons geval dacht de peuter speel zaal

dat onze peuter erg moeilijk contact maakt

en dat er sprake kon zijn spanning in zijn lijfje.

Ik vind thuis ook dat we moeilijk contact krijgen, 

maar ik wist niet dat er I.V. bestond.

Wij hadden van de logopedist al een verwijzing naar de huisarts gehad.

De afspraak met de huisarts was al gemaakt, 

en werd overgenomen door de I.V.

Integrale Vroeghulp heeft onze peuter geobserveerd op de PSZ

en bij ons thuis en hun hebben een film van hem gemaakt.

Daarna hadden we een gesprek met verschillende specialisten,

waarbij ze allemaal goed samenwerken, 

en geprobeerd zo goed mogelijk uit te leggen

waar ze denken dat onze peuter last van heeft.

Als moeder vind ik dat erg lastig, maar het doet mijn hart goed

om dit op mijn blog te kunnen zetten...

Het blijkt dat onze peuter geen goede geestelijke en lichamelijke 

prikkel verwerking heeft, en hij een taal en begrip 

achterstand heeft en een afwijkende mondmotoriek.

En een spel een speel achterstand en dat hij 

sociaal een neiging naar Autisme (ASS) heeft,

hij maakt niet goed of voldoende contact.

Een lichtpunt is dan wel, dat de specialisten

het er over eens zijn dat hij verder onderzocht 

moet worden en wij ondersteuning daarin krijgen.

Onze peuter gaat binnenkort voor een aantal 

maanden naar een gespecialiseerde soort van PSZ,

waar hij dagdelen geobserveerd wordt door een heel goed team.

En daarna zal hopelijk blijken wat er precies is.
  

Nu kunnen we alleen afwachten totdat hij daar na toe gaat

en gewoon veel van hem houden. Dat doen we natuurlijk

al en dat zullen we blijven doen, no matter what...

DWZI haken, zon en projekten

Deze week zag ik eigenlijk te veel om in een blogpost te zetten...

 In een gezin met 2 hele actieve en grappige jongens
is er namelijk altijd wel wat te beleven...

Hele leuke dingen, soms ook wat mindere,
zoals kapotte knieën en handen en soms hoofden...

De leuke dingen zijn er om te koesteren
en te onthouden die probeer ik ook zo veel 

mogelijk in een "mama dagboek" bij te houden,
dat zet ik nog wel een keer op de blog.

Back to the subject...

 

Deze week zag ik een nieuwe vaardigheid ontstaan namelijk haken ;)

Deze week zag ik ook dat mijn vitamine D veel te laag was, schrikbarend laag,
(vandaar dat ik al maanden zo'n beetje heel de dag aan het slaapwandelen was)
ik moet dus vlug wat hoger komen, met behulp van vitamine D spuiten

en vitamine D krijg je van de zon!

Deze week zag ik ook in mijn mailbox dat ik een give-away heb gewonnen...
