Wristees

A while ago I made a nice pattern for some
hand / wrist warmers and they turned out very good.
That was after 5 failures of course.
I made them with a cotton blend, so there not itchy.
The downside with cotton is that it is not stretchy.
So the next batch I'm gonna make with wool.
For the first week or so I'm making 5 pair
wrist / hand warmers for a lovely family.
2 pair for adults and 3 pair for there children,
so by the beginning of February a whole family
is gonna keep there hands warm with handmade wrist warmers :)
I love doing custom orders and I am so happy
that people have confidence in me,
and that they are happy with the result.
You can buy them in my Etsy store
and also on Facebook, which is new by the way.
Anyway here are a few pictures of the new hand / wrist warmers.

Cowl from handspun yarn

A while ago I swapped via Swapworkshop
my handspun yarn, with a lovely lady from Scotland.
The yarn was spun from merino wool,
with lovely purple accents in it.
It was my first handspun yarn I made on my spinning wheel,
it actually had an emotional value for me (I mean it was my first :))
Anyway a couple of day's ago I saw the cowl that
she made from it, and it made me so proud that
someone made something so nice and lovely from my yarn.
Thank you so much Mette,
for working your magic with my yarn.

Just another day

Today I really felt that I had to go to the hairdresser,
to do something with my hair color
it was already months ago that I had done it,  so why not.
And while I was there I got the crazy idea of a before and after picture

with my retro-photo application on my phone.
Crazy or not, the name of the hairdresser is Brain Wash (says it all)
And here is the result captured in a little scrap page.

Please do not mind the facial expression I'm making
because it's hard to make a picture from yourself with a phone ;)

Don't tell me you can't see the hair color either...
Although it was a nice experiment,
next time I use a different photo setting ;)

Have a lovely day!

Broken Fingertip

It's been sometime since I've made a proper post here,
because I have broken the tip of my left index finger...
Long story not gonna bother you with the details ;)
But now I am able to type and crochet again (yeah)

Anyway I made a few wrist / hand-warmers for the shop.
I made them seamless so they are not make lines in the skin :)
I made 2 different models,
one with little crochet stitches and the a pair with larger crochet stitches.
And now I'm working on a baby blanket for a good friend
who just got the most adorable baby girl.
The colors are very bright but does not show on the picture,
because I have this app on my phone that makes a sort of retro photo's
and I just forgot to set it back to normal.
The blanket is a granny stripe made from 100% cotton,
real soft and fluffy yarn to keep the baby cozy and warm,
with pink and a sea green tint.
And shown on the picture my broken finger tip ;)
The doctor burned a hole in my nail to release the pressure
under the nail so I could move the finger again. The fingertip
was so swollen that I could not wiggle it.
Anyway it heals very nice now, and it should take about 6 weeks
before it's back to normal :)

Have a awesome creative day!
